Three Kala Revelator Nautilus models: size before wood

The Spalted Maple Sapele and Incense Cedar versions in this comparison are baritone ukuleles. The Sitka Spruce version is a tenor. All three are listed as slimline electro-acoustic instruments. Start with the instrument size and intended tuning rather than treating three attractive wood names as interchangeable options.

The maple model specifies a spalted maple top with sapele back and sides. The cedar baritone specifies an incense cedar top with mahogany back and sides. The spruce tenor lists a Sitka spruce top and mahogany back, sides and neck. Those are construction facts, not a listening test.

If you already follow a tenor lesson, confirm what would need to change before switching to baritone. If you specifically want a baritone, compare the two baritone models first. Check the exact string specification and intended tuning with Kala rather than assuming that the category name supplies every setup detail.
