Pentel GraphGear 500 or Sharp HD 1.3 mm?
Compare the exact lead format and working tip before choosing a pencil.
These pencils invite different first questions. The linked GraphGear 500 is the 0.5 mm version with a 4 mm drafting tip and metal mesh grip. The Sharp HD listing specifies 1.3 mm lead and an included refill. These are manufacturer specifications, not evidence that either pencil feels better in every hand.
For a drawing routine involving small ruled details, consider how the GraphGear’s projecting tip fits the work. For a preference for wider graphite marks, the Sharp HD’s larger lead diameter is the relevant distinction. Those are selection inferences; neither replaces trying your normal paper and grip.
Check the refill diameter before adding spare lead to the basket. The two sizes are not interchangeable, and owning one tube does not make it suitable for both pencils. Put the diameter in your supplies list rather than recording only the Pentel name.
A useful decision is the pencil that matches your intended marks and refill routine. We have not measured breakage, balance or writing endurance, so those are questions to investigate in person rather than reasons for a winner here.
