Amsterdam A4 sketchbook or acrylic paper pad?
Compare paper weight, sheet count and the way you want to keep your work.
The Amsterdam A4 sketchbook lists 250 g/m² paper, 30 sheets and spiral binding. The A4 acrylic paper pad lists 350 g/m² cellulose paper and 20 sheets, intended for acrylic painting. The shared A4 format does not make the two paper products identical.
Start with the job: do you want a bound sequence of studies, or paper specified for an acrylic-painting session? The sketchbook’s spiral format can support keeping experiments together. The acrylic pad’s stated use may make it the more relevant starting point for that medium. This is an editorial fit assessment, not a measured performance result.
Paper weight alone cannot tell you how a particular wash, paint layer or drying routine will behave. Try a small sample with the actual material before committing a finished composition. Note the medium and amount of water so a later comparison means something.
Compare sheet counts separately from paper weight when planning supplies. We have not tested buckling, abrasion or long-term storage, and do not infer archival quality from either number. Choose the format that matches how you work and keep the result.
